　　预算相关

　　budget (n.)预算

　　budget除了当名词之外，当动词有「节省开支；审慎花钱」的意思。作为形容词是指「平价的：合算的」。「在预算内」可以说on/within budget。

　　If the government increases the spending or lowers the tax rate in order to stimulate its economic growth, budget deficit may occur.

　　若政府为了刺激经济成长而增加支出或降低税率，预算可能会不足。

　　存、提款相关

　　withdraw (v.)提款 deposit (v.)存款

　　在withdraw后面加上–al名词字根，则是指「提款」、「提醒领出来的款项」唷！军队中会用到的「撤军」可以说troop withdrawal，而withdraw from是「从…提取」。deposit作为名词有「保证金、押金」的意思。存款账户叫做deposit account。

　　A: Is there a transaction fee every time I withdraw?

　　B: There is a 5-dollar service charge for withdrawing money.

　　A:每次提领会收取手续费吗？

　　B:我们酌收5 元的提款手续费。

　　ATM (Automated Teller Machine) (n.)自动提款机

　　automated是「自动的」，teller是指「出纳员、计票员」，machine是「机器」的意思。automated写成automatic也可以喔！

　　A: That will be 160 dollars, Sir.

　　B: Do you take credit cards?

　　A: We are sorry for your inconvenience but the credit card reader is out of order.

　　B: Is there an ATM nearby?

　　A: Yes, there is an ATM on the east side of the lobby.

　　A:先生您今天的消费总共是160元。

　　B:请问可刷卡吗？

　　A:很抱歉！我们的刷卡机故障了，希望您能谅解。

　　B:那请问这附近有提款机吗？

　　A:有的，在一楼大厅的东侧有提款机。

　　head office (n.)总行—branch (n.)分行—headquarters (n.)总部

　　headquarters虽然字尾有s，但它其实是一个单数名词。若去除s则变成动词headquarter，意指「设立总部」。general headquarters是「大本营、统帅部、总司令部」。

　　Our branches extended all over the country.

　　我们全国都有分店。

　　I have an important meeting at headquarters this Friday, could you booka plane ticket for me?

　　我星期五在总部有一场重要的会议，可能帮我订机票吗？

　　transfer (v.)转帐

　　trans-是表示「超越、穿透」的字首，-fer则是「携带、生育、承受」的意思。许多单字都有用到trans-这个字首，例如transform (v.)使改变；使改观、translate (v.)翻译；解释、transport (v.)运输。

　　I would like to transfer 1 million dollars to my checking account.

　　我想存一百万元到我的活期存款户头。

　　checking account (n.)活期存款户头fixed deposit/time deposit/certificate of deposit (n.)定存current/demand deposit (n.)活存

　　A: Hi, I would like to transfer 10,000 dollars from checking account to fixed deposit.

　　B: No problem, please let me know your current deposit number.

　　A:您好，我想从我的活存账户里转一万元到定存账户。

　　B:好的，请您把活存的账户资料给我。

　　·budget deficit (n.)预算赤字

　　on a layaway / installment plan分期付款

　　layaway是指「保留代付商品」，installment是「一期、分批」。分期付款也可以用payment installment或是installment payment。需要使用分期付款的商品通常价格很高，可以说beyond one’s means，表示「某人的财力无法负担」。分期付款需先支付一笔头期款以保留商品，「头期款」的说法是down payment。

　　A: I bought a new motorcycle on a layaway plan/an installment plan.

　　B: How much did you pay for the down payment?

　　A: I put 1,000 dollars down first then.

　　A:我用分期付款买了一台新的机车。

　　B:那你头期款付了多少？

　　A:我先付了一千元。

　　bad debt (n.)呆帐、坏帐

　　应收帐款中无法收回的部分称为「呆帐」。dead account、bad account也是呆帐的其他说法。

　　be in the red (n.)赤字、亏损

　　通常成绩单不及格都会被用红色标记，而记帐的时候，也会将亏损的部分用红色注记，所以赤字就衍伸为「亏损、未达标准」的意思。

　　in debt (n.)负债中

　　A: Will you attend Lisa’s birthday party on Friday night?

　　B: You know what? I’m in debt. To be honest, I maxed out my credit card last month.

　　A: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.

　　B: Don’t worry! Thanks for inviting me.

　　A:你星期五晚上会去Lisa的庆生趴吗？

　　B:你知道吗？我现在负债中。老实说，我上个月把信用卡刷爆了。
